The works include the construction of slip roads connecting with a number of roundabouts which are joined by a structure over the AP-9 (already built). The south-bound slip roads for the junction are connected by two existing roundabouts. However, their size will have to be adjusted due to the quantity of traffic they will have to handle. The roundabout that connects the north-bound slip roads is new.
The infrastructure is completed with road signs and markings together with illuminated markings and safety items. In addition to the above, a wall is to be built on one of the roundabouts on the City of Culture side so as not to impact an underpass. The junction is enclosed by means of two types of fence (urban and special reinforced). The motorway’s fibre optic and SOS pole wiring is to be replaced. Affected services will be restored including replacing communication lines, lighting and external works due to the resizing of the roundabouts on the right-hand side of the City of Culture road.
