Adif has approved the award of the construction of two new stretches of the Madrid-Galicia high-speed train line. The contract is for carrying out work on the platform for the two tracks in La Canda Tunnel which runs through the municipal areas of Lubián (Zamora) and A Mezquita (Orense). It is to involve work on infrastructure, earthworks, drainage works, structures, the tunnel, the replacement of affected services and easements and road connections to ensure the line can be crossed. Work on the left hand track has been awarded to a temporary consortium made up of Copisa, Copasa, Sercoysa and Construcciones Obras y Viales at a total cost of €88.4 million and with a completion period of 35 months.
