Work on the HST line between Galicia and Madrid has completed another stage today. Drilling of the left track tunnel at A Canda, on the border between Ourense and Zamora and which is one of the most complex sections of the entire route, has been finished with a total length of 7.3 kilometres. Construction of the tunnel at A Canda, between the municipalities of A Mezquita and Luján, was awarded in August 2012. The sections that have been completed were handled by a temporary business association made up of Copisa, Copasa, Sercoysa and Construcciones Obras y Viales.

Copisa is awarded the doubling of the C-260 at Vilatenim, Girona. Spain
The department of Territory and Sustainability has awarded the works of doubling the last remaining stretch of the C-260, where it passes through Vilatenim to Figueres. The works will be done by a joint venture formed by Copisa and Obras, Pavimentos e Instalaciones. The time allowed for the execution will be 15 months.
Grupo Copisa launches a drone inspection service to detect building flaws
Grupo Copisa has launched onto the market the IRIS Project (Industrial Recognition & Inspection System), an engineering, construction and operational system using drones equipped with a thermal digital camera. The system, which is a pioneer in the sector, allows technical and maintenance inspections of buildings and infrastructures to be carried out, and it is targeted at construction and services companies, engineers and managers and owners of infrastructures.

Award of the first phase of the works for the roadway tunnels in Glòries Square, Barcelona, Spain
The municipal company BIMSA has awarded to the Joint Venture formed by the companies Copisa, Comsa Emte, Arnó and Rogasa, the first stage of the works for the roadway tunnels in Glòries Square, Barcelona, for an amount of 49,675,740 euro. This is the first phase of the roadway tunnels, which will channel the traffic entering and leaving the city below the Glòries Square. The works on the 508 m section between Badajoz and Castillejos streets will begin at the end of March and last for 25 months. This first stage of the tunnel will be the deepest part, as it will pass below the railway tunnels and will reach a level of 25 m below the surface of the Square.

Visit by the President of the Republic of Peru to the ATE-VITARTE hospital that Copisa is building
President visits hospital in Lima. The President of the Republic of Peru, Ollanta Humala, visited the construction site of the ATE-VITARTE hospital. Accompanying the President on this visit were Armand Cuesta (Project Manager), José Ramón López (from Copisa) and representatives from Copisa’s partners, Mediterráneo and TECNASA. The hospital will have 185 beds (of which 35 will be intensive care units), 38 consultancy rooms and six operating theatres. For their part, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) underlined that this hospital would strengthen the capacity of the emergency and specialist services, pointing out that the new health centre will directly benefit 57,000 residents in the district of Ate, as well as the entire eastern area of Lima. The health care centre is being built on an area of 20,036 m2 and will require an investment of 157,394,047.16 PEN (Peruvian Nuevos Soles).

Adif has awarded Copisa the contract to standardise the stations on the Atlantic Axis high-speed rail line (Vigo-Santiago-A Coruña) for an amount of 4.34 million euros. The work involves adapting the stations to a uniform design, standardising elements such as canopies, paving, furniture and signs.
