The excavations are completed for the AVE tunnel linking Atocha and Chamartín stations in Madrid. Spain

Ten months after starting the works at depth the excavation is completed for the AVE international gauge tunnel which will link the two stations. This is a strategic work for the future of the Spanish high speed train which will make it possible to open up all the railway connections between the south and the north of the Peninsula. Award of the AVE track section between Cañaveral and the Alcántara Reservoir, Spain

The works for the AVE (high speed train) section of track between Cañaveral and the Alcántara Reservoir have been awarded to the Joint Venture formed by Copisa and Copasa. This section is double track with international gauge and mixed traffic and will also be the longest viaduct in Extremadura, measuring 1,488 m with a central arch of 324 m. Two bridges over the Regato de Cuervo are also projected, of 162 m and 114 m. The award budget comes to 64.8 million euro.

Cedinsa wins a prize for the financing project of the Eix Transversal

Cedinsa has received the “Deal of the Year” prize awarded by the prestigious British magazine “Project Finance” for the project of financing for the C-25 road, the Eix Transversal. The award will be presented on 9 February next in London.

The Joint Venture formed by COPISA, RUBAU, FCC and OHL has been awarded the construction of Els Plans prison in Tàrrega. This project will be financed through a contract over a building right, a formula by which the concessionaire makes the necessary investment for the construction, exploitation and maintenance of the facility, receiving in return an annual fee from the Authorities.

Awards made for the first phase of the future ring road for Mataró in the Maresme, Spain

GISA, a Catalan Government body, has awarded the works on the first phase of the future Mataró ring road to the Joint Venture formed by Copisa, FCC and Romero Gamero (Rogasa). The section in question measures four kilometres and consists of forming the roadways for the lead-in roads from the C-32 motorway, starting at the C-60 link and going as far as the new link with Mataró Parc shopping mall.

Awarded the extension of the Chemical wharf in the port of Tarragona, Spain

The Port Authority of Tarragona has awarded to Copisa, in a Joint Venture (UTE) with FCC, the works of the extension of the Chemical wharf in the port of Tarragona, for a sum of 67.4 million euro. The purpose of the extension is to respond to the port of Tarragona’s interest in increasing its role in petrochemical traffic and to make this port a suitable destination for big ships.
